The ticking is woven from wool, silk, and viscose: materials chosen not for appearance but because their combined breathability and softness begin conditioning the microclimate at the first point of contact. Beneath the surface, the upholstery builds in sequence: British fleece wool for resilience and moisture regulation, then the hand-opened Austrian Moosburger® horsetail, whose long, naturally crimped fibres resist compression over time and maintain consistent loft where shorter or blended alternatives would consolidate. Real Shetland Wool blended with cashmere follows, providing a finer, softer transition layer that moderates temperature without trapping heat. A blend of Real Shetland Wool and organic cotton completes the upholstery core, adding body and absorptive capacity through the night. The spring system uses two layers of hand-nested, vanadium steel calico pocket springs, with 3,296 springs in a King size responding independently to weight and movement so that support is continuous rather than averaged across zones. The border is upholstered with coir and wool, anchored by four rows of hand side-stitching that firm the perimeter, extend the usable sleep surface to the edge, and hold the upholstery profile over years of use. Each mattress is hand-tufted with woollen tufts and twine, compressing the filling layers into a stable, consistent depth at every tuft point.
