A Vispring mattress is built around two distinct qualities: tension and feel. Tension is the support beneath you, drawn from the hand-nested pocket springs at the heart of every mattress. Feel is the comfort above, shaped by the natural fibres layered over them. Understanding the difference is the first step toward a mattress made precisely for you.
Tension describes the firmness the springs provide. The right tension holds your spine in true alignment through the night, and because that support is calibrated to the body resting on it, we take your weight as the surest guide.
Firmer is not always better. Comfort is personal, and the aim is the tension that lets you rest without thinking about resting at all. Vispring offers four tensions: Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm.

Where tension is the support from below, feel is the softness you settle into above. It comes from a considered blend of natural materials: real Shetland wool, hand-teased horsetail, calico cotton, and at the upper collections, silk, cashmere, and mohair.
Two mattresses can share the same tension and feel quite different underneath you, which is why feel is chosen separately. Our Feel Guide sets each combination in order, from the more yielding to the more supportive, so the surface can be matched to your preference as deliberately as the support is matched to your frame.
Rest is rarely identical on both sides of a bed. Where partners have differing needs, a Vispring mattress can be made with a different tension on each side: soft paired with medium, medium with firm, or firm with extra firm. The construction is divided down the centre, so each sleeper is supported on their own terms within a single mattress.
For those who prefer two separate mattresses that sit as one, Zip and Link joins two individual divans and mattresses into a seamless whole. Each side carries its own tension and its own feel, and a divan mantle conceals the join. Two beds in the making, one in the bed.
