In a King size, 1,716 individually pocketed springs respond to movement without transferring it, each one formed from Vanadium steel for resilience that resists fatigue over years of use. The spring layer is available in four tensions — Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm — and King sizes can be specified with split firmness across the width to suit two sleepers with different preferences. Above the springs, the upholstery works in two distinct layers: a bonded British fleece wool and cotton layer that cushions immediate contact, and a blended British fleece wool and cotton layer beneath it that moderates temperature by drawing moisture away from the body.
Both fillings breathe naturally and compact slowly, maintaining the mattress profile over time. The border is hand side-stitched in two rows, which binds the spring perimeter to the upholstery and prevents the edge from collapsing under load, giving the full sleeping surface right to the boundary. Hand tufting with felt washers draws the fillings into uniform compression, stopping them from migrating or bunching. Air vents in the border allow passive ventilation through the mattress depth of 8.3 inches, plus 2.4 inches of natural doming.
