The sleep surface draws from a sequence of fillings arranged from the outside in. Mulberry silk and bamboo sit closest to the ticking, where their natural moisture-wicking properties carry heat and humidity away from the body through the night. Beneath them, a blend of cashmere and alpaca contributes the kind of fine, compressible loft that conforms to the shoulder and hip without resistance, while a layer of Austrian hand-opened long strand Moosburger® horsetail introduces springback and resilience, preventing the surface from settling under sustained pressure. Real Shetland Wool and cotton, layered at depth on either side of the spring unit, add thermal mass and absorb movement before it travels.
The three-layer hand-nested vanadium steel pocket spring system holds 3,366 independently responding springs in a King size (150 x 200cm), a count that allows the mattress to map closely to the body’s contours without transferring motion across the sleeping surface. Six rows of hand side-stitching along the border lock the springs to the edge, maintaining consistent support from the centre to the perimeter. Hand-tufting with woollen tufts and twine compresses the upholstery layers at regular intervals, holding the filling distribution in place for the life of the mattress and preventing migration over time.
